It’s that time again, Part 3 of our ‘Making More Money’ series is here, and in this article, we’re here to explore the method of Email Marketing, which is extensive, and a little time consuming, but well worth the effort.

What even is email marketing?
It’s a form of communication between seller and buyer via email. The seller targets a specific audience that is interested in their product and uses this interest to increase sales. Businesses include exclusive offers, sales, ‘promo codes’ and other offers to entice their audience to click through the email to their online store (website) and buy their stock.
Most think of this platform as a dying market, but it’s quite the opposite. Email marketing has a higher rate of conversion from the mailbox to the website compared to something like social media advertising because it has a more direct approach and is more intimate for the receiver.

For example: If you sign up as a member of a clothing brand (like CottonOn), you generally get emails to inform you of new stock, sales and other exclusive offers, if you’re interested in any of those products, you’re able to click on the photo, or the link to take you to the appropriate site to buy your item. This purchase is how you make your money.

How do you do it?
To start with, you need an audience. The best way to do this is to build up your clientele through creating a website with your product on it and working on increasing the traffic through that website. Once your website is established, offer your followers a newsletter for signing up, a promo code for 10% off their next purchase, or offer an hour private chat in regards to the content on your site (e.g. you’re a financial advisor). What you offer is completely determined by the content of your website. From here, you have an email address for every person that signs up and taadaa, you’ve started your target audience.
You can now begin to sell your own product or you can look into affiliate marketing where either you approach a company, or they may approach you, to assist them with sales or the promotion of new products. Once you have your stock, work hard to increase your sign-ups, which in turn, increases your target audience. You can then look into expanding your product range, which will again increase your email list. This snowball effect is what you want to get rolling, once you have an extensive email list, you need to ensure that your emails increase in quality, which will increase your overall success.

TOP 5 WAYS TO WAKE UP HAPPY

There are some days where you know you just have to hit snooze, roll back over and start again in 5 minutes. We’ve all been there, done that, but it’s imperative that you make a change as soon as this happens. You’ve got to make things work for you every day of your working week. We’re sure that there are heaps of ways that you can use to attempt to combat your I-woke- up-on- the-wrong- side-of-the- bed-itis, but we’re only going to explore a few within this article that we’ve found works for us.

WATER.

After a bit of research, we found that having a bottle of water next to your bed gives you the freedom to grab it if you wake up thirsty in the middle of the night, take a swig and get back to your well-earned sleep, instead of getting out of your sleep state, into your wake state, getting up and going to the kitchen to grab a glass of water, before going back to tossing and turning in bed before getting to sleep. It also helps you to get your first of eight glasses of water for the day into your system before you even get out of bed.

Water is also great for your mood and metabolism, it supports your whole body – everything that happens in the body requires water, if you don’t give it enough, it’ll get sad and dehydrated then you’ll get sad, and that’s not what we want!

MAKE YOUR BED.

It may sound silly, but making your bed not only makes you look like a tidier person, but it’s your first little win of the day. It’s generally the little things that make you the happiest, because it’s not often we get great, exciting news every day, we’re used to the little wins in life. Make your first little win every day straight after you wake up.

OPEN THE CURTAINS.

Let the light in, doesn’t matter if it’s 10˚C and raining, or whether it’s 35˚C and you could fry an egg on the hood of your car. Natural light has a charisma about it that makes your body wake up and come alive as soon as it comes into the room. The light that comes in also signals your internal ‘body-clock’ to stop the secretion of melatonin – is a hormone that makes you sleepy.’

DON’T CHECK YOUR PHONE.

It’s just something we do right, our phone’s next to the bed charging overnight, so it’s just the first thing we do is check out a phone. Well, stop. If you’re scrolling through Facebook first thing in the morning, you’re already seeing news articles that are horrifying the world, updates from your friends on holidays, maybe a funny cat video or a meme… but do you really want to ruin your day that early in the morning? Wait until you’ve at least eaten breakfast, sit on the porch and enjoy your breakfast outside before you connect to the real world again.

Lastly… STOP SNOOZING.

It’s a bad habit to get into, if you keep hitting the snooze button you’re only going to make yourself late, put yourself in an unneeded, stressful situation and put your whole day out. Get up when your alarm goes off and you’ll thank yourself later.
